Please tell us about the work you are currently doing.

When you think of the work of the human resources department, you often think of things like hiring and payroll calculations, but in the labor affairs department where I belong, I am responsible for (1) employee work management, and (2) the development of internal systems in line with legal revisions and social trends. We are responsible for all in-house labor affairs, including consideration and (3) dealing with labor unions. Specifically, we check employees' work records to ensure that they do not violate laws or company rules, and that overtime pay is not paid. Additionally, the Labor Affairs Division's job is to develop internal systems in line with legal revisions, hold discussions with labor unions, and create a comfortable working environment for employees. In the spring, you may have heard the words ``spring labor'' and ``bare'' on the news, but ``spring labor'' also serves as a forum for discussions between labor unions and employees' salaries. We also consult with employees about their concerns. My job is to support the company from the inside, so it doesn't really stand out, but it's a job that creates an environment where employees can work with peace of mind, so it's a very rewarding and responsible job.

interview 02

What is the most memorable job you've ever had?

Of all the work I have been responsible for, the most memorable one has been responding to work style reforms. A law called the Work Style Reform Related Act came into effect in April 2019, so we needed to change our internal systems in line with this law. It is rare for such a large-scale change to be made, and since a drastic change was required, the first step was to study and understand the law. Once we understood the content, the next step was to determine whether Nissin 's rules were legal or illegal, and if they were illegal, we revised the system to make them legal. At the same time, we held briefing sessions at each office within the company to disseminate the changes, and at the same time, we proceeded with improvements to our internal systems. It was an urgent situation with a deadline set by law, so I had to approach my work with a great sense of urgency. After the change, we received a constant stream of inquiries from various workplaces for the time being, but we are now relieved that we have no such inquiries and have been able to get things back on Railway Track.

interview 03

Please tell us what you are careful about in your work.

There are three main points that I am careful about in my current work. The first thing to do is to be empathetic and listen to what your employees have to say. Employees do not understand all internal systems, and some feel anxious when laws or internal systems change. We receive inquiries from people with various questions and concerns, so we strive to fully understand their content and provide appropriate answers. On top of that, secondly, I am careful not to give off-center answers. This is because giving off-center answers will cause confusion within the company. All of our employees have various circumstances, but in order to maintain order within the company, it is important to keep a consistent attitude, even if it is hard at times. For this purpose, it is also necessary to be fully familiar with the laws and company systems. The last thing is a sense of balance. There are many people and workplaces within a company, and there are as many values as there are. We are considering systems, etc. while taking into consideration the balance of each individual's values.

This is what makes logistics so interesting!

This may sound like a cliché, but I think the biggest appeal is that we handle a wide range of product fields. I think there is no other industry that can handle so many different fields such as automobiles, chemicals, foods, and plant equipment. All of these things are essential to our lives, and we can feel their contribution to society in our daily lives. I think the fun part of being in the logistics industry is that you get to work while feeling the sense of being useful to the world every day.

interview 05

What I like about Nissin

The reason I ultimately chose Nissin while job hunting during my student days was because I was attracted to Nissin 's ``warm, humane atmosphere.'' During my job hunting, I often heard that when you actually join a company, you feel a gap between yourself and the person you were before joining the company, but at Nissin, this is not the case, and my colleagues are exactly the way I imagined them to be before joining the company. I am surrounded by people and am able to work happily every day. Perhaps because of this atmosphere, there is a very open atmosphere, including interpersonal relationships, and I am able to easily take vacations. Also, if you have a problem, you can feel free to ask questions, and if there is something you want to do, I feel like there is an environment where they will support you. On a personal note, I still remember how moved I was when I received congratulatory telegrams from my boss and colleagues on the day of my wedding. I think Nissin 's ``warm and humane atmosphere'' is a deep and attractive feature that becomes more and more felt each time you stay with the company.

interview 06

Please tell us about your future goals and dreams.

There are still many things I don't know about Nissin and the law, so I always feel that I need to increase my knowledge even more than I currently do. I believe that the job of the Human Resources Department is to follow up with employees so that they can concentrate on their respective tasks, so I would like to be able to dispel your doubts and concerns as much as possible. Based on this, I would like to be able to proactively plan internal systems that will lead to improvements in the workplace environment in the future.

interview 07

Please give a message to job hunters!

I think the important thing when job hunting is to be honest with yourself. In order to find the company that suits you from among the many companies, it is important to decide on one direction, no matter what. First, organize your thoughts on whether you are focusing on salary, the type of industry you are aiming for, or whether you are aiming for an environment that allows you to work overseas. Also, when interviewing, you tend to try to make yourself look big, but in my experience, I often get better results by being my true self, so I recommend it. Rather than trying to promote yourself, why not approach the company with the mindset of ``getting to know me'' and ``enjoying conversation with the interviewer''? I think there will come a moment when job hunting will change from ``painful'' to ``fun.'' Lastly, please try many different things while you are a student. When you enter the workforce, your relationships with others will be more diverse than when you were a student, but any experience, no matter how small, will surely be helpful in making your relationships smoother.
