interview01

Please tell us about the work you are currently doing.

The department I belong to deals with the import and export of products such as machinery, steel materials, and miscellaneous goods by sea. In particular, I am in charge of import/export operations, mainly machinery and equipment, and customer sales. When we receive an inquiry for new transportation, we begin by creating a quote. We inquire about import and export costs in Japan and overseas and make proposals to customers. It is not uncommon for us to actually visit the factory and conduct on-site inspections. Once we receive an order, we will discuss the details and coordinate operations with various departments. We hope to proceed as planned, but delivery dates may be affected by weather and circumstances. In such cases, one of our important tasks is to propose alternative routes and coordinate delivery dates with the customer.

interview 02

What kind of school days did you have?

When I was in college, I joined the lacrosse club because I wanted to try a sport that allows beginners to grow from scratch. In an environment where there are no experienced players or coaches, we are the only ones thinking of menus and strategies. There was no "correct" path, so there were many times when I was worried about the direction we should take, but the experience of trial and error in order to help my teammates share their opinions and move in a better direction helped me become a working adult. I think it still provides me with sustenance.

interview 03

What made you decide to join the company?

The reason I chose Nissin out of many companies was because I was attracted to the fact that they can handle transportation around the world by making full use of a wide variety of modes, including not only sea and air transportation, but also warehousing and domestic transportation. is. Also, as I interacted with people in charge of recruitment and senior employees during my job search, I felt the warmth and kindness with which they treated each and every individual, which was a deciding factor in my decision to work as a member of this company. .

interview 04

What is the atmosphere like at your company or department?

I think this is a very rewarding environment because we are supportive of the challenges young people want to take on, and respect what they think about what they want to do. Regardless of my department or company history, I am able to approach my work with a positive attitude thanks to my superiors and senior colleagues who are always willing to help me when I have a problem.

interview 05

How do you think you have grown compared to when you first joined the company?

When I first joined the company, I didn't know what was right and what was left, and I was desperately trying to do the work I was taught. At that time, I was focused on how I could accurately meet customer requests without missing anything, but now I am able to use the knowledge I have gained through these daily experiences to make proposals that exceed customer expectations. I think this has become the case. I still don't have a lot of experience and I sometimes feel frustrated, but even with the support of my senior colleagues, I am determined to do my best to transport cargo that requires special handling or to areas I am unfamiliar with. I'm working on it.

interview 06

Please tell us about your future goals and dreams.

My first goal is to accumulate knowledge and experience in maritime import and export, and to be able to make my own proposals in response to various requests from customers. If you have a problem, please consult Nissin! I would like to become a sales representative who is the first to come to the mind of the customer, more than any other representative from other companies in the same industry.

interview 07

Please give a message to job hunters!

Nowadays, you can easily gather information on the Internet from the comfort of your home, but I would like you to make some time to attend as many information sessions as possible. I think it's important to listen to the opinions of the people who actually work at the company and be able to envision what the company will be like one year, five years, and 10 years from now. I tend to focus only on getting a job offer, but I think being able to learn about various industries and companies is a valuable experience that I don't have many other times, so don't get too excited. Good luck with your job hunting!
