Please tell us about the work you are currently doing.

When I first joined the company, I was assigned to the sales department and worked at a local sales office in Ota City, Gunma Prefecture. In the spring of my 5th year, I transferred to the field department, and after gaining 3 years of on-site experience, I currently belong to the sales department specializing in the automobile sector, and am in charge of Ocean transport proposals and import/export operations for major automobile manufacturers. doing. The automobile division transports a wide variety of cargo, including not only Finished Car, but also prototype cars, car parts, and machinery and factory equipment used to make cars. I am in charge of Ocean transport of auto parts. A car is made up of approximately 20,000 to 30,000 parts, and we arrange for transportation to various countries around the world according to customer requests. Depending on the customer's request, we may transport more than 100 40-foot containers (*) in a month, so we make transportation arrangements for a huge amount of cargo. Various procedures occur depending on conditions such as type, quantity, destination country, etc., and no two days are the same, so I approach my current job with a fresh mindset every day.

What is the most memorable job you've ever had?

During my third year at the company, I was in charge of imports for an automobile electrical parts manufacturer. The project involved urgently importing a generator by air from Guangzhou, China, but the delivery deadline was tight and it was difficult to make it in time. In a situation where even a single mistake could not be tolerated, we collaborated with all relevant parties and proposed that priority service (*) be given to the local person in charge to ensure that the generator was loaded on the scheduled flight, and the generator arrived at Narita Airport. We were able to safely deliver the product to the customer the next day. I was able to experience Nissin 's global know-how and the track record that our predecessors have built, and I received words of gratitude from the customer saying that the production line did not have to stop because we met the delivery date. But it's the one that left the most impression on me.

  • Priority Service: A service that gives cargo a higher priority, ensuring it is loaded onto an aircraft and expediting the time of collection.

interview 03

Please tell me what you are careful about when doing your job.

``Never forget your original intentions'' This is the attitude that I value when working. For me, "beginner's intention" means never forgetting to say hello and be grateful to those around you. At first glance, this may seem like an obvious thing for a working adult to do, but I think it's actually very difficult. Building human relationships is very important when working within a company. Nissin Group has over 70 companies and approximately 6,000 employees, and many people are involved in making a single transportation arrangement. In order to provide high-quality logistics services that please our customers, we believe that it is important to first create an environment in which employees feel comfortable cooperating with each other.

interview 04

This is what makes logistics so interesting!

I find the delicate and dynamic parts of logistics sites fascinating and interesting. I worked in the port area of Yokohama for three years. A large number of customers' cargo is Carrying in in every day, and the cargo handled ranges from tens of tons to small cargo that can be carried with one hand. We plan the cargo placement inside the container according to the characteristics of the cargo, and I think this work is delicate and one of the charms of logistics. When transporting by ship, the cargo inside the container must be evenly balanced front to back and left and right. Planning can be like a difficult puzzle as cargo of different weights, shapes, and materials are packed into the same container. Afterwards, the cargo is actually packed into containers, and depending on the cargo, large forklifts and cranes are used to perform dynamic work right in front of your eyes. When a dynamic work is carried out according to a carefully planned plan, I get a great sense of accomplishment and find it very interesting.

What I like about Nissin

The first thing I like about Nissin is that there is a very good atmosphere among the employees. There are no barriers between colleagues, superiors, seniors, and juniors, creating an environment that makes it easy to work. After joining the company, there is an OJT system at the company you belong to, and a senior colleague will work alongside you for half a year to provide solid guidance. Additionally, employees have the opportunity to have one-on-one meetings with their superiors several times a year, where they can hear about their concerns and future goals. It's reassuring to have an environment where there's always someone to talk to. The second part is that the welfare benefits are extensive. Working at Nissin allows me to spend more time with my family, such as by signing annual contracts with lodging facilities located across the country. I think Nissin is a company where not only its employees but also their families can feel safe.

interview 06

Please tell us about your future goals and dreams.

Our future goal is to create new logistics services. Nissin is a historical company founded in 1938. Based on what our predecessors have created, I would like to create services that suit the times, such as the ITization of modern logistics and online shopping. We would like to bring together Nissin 's on-site capabilities, Customs clearance capabilities, and sales capabilities to come up with services that only Nissin can provide. I believe that automated logistics services will become commonplace in the future. We would like to coexist with this wave of automation and the results we have built to date, moving logistics around the world.

Please give a message to job hunters!

Please make a choice you won't regret. Job hunting takes a long time, so if you lose focus, you won't get any results. If you seriously think about what kind of work you want to do, where and with what kind of people, you will definitely find an answer. I think it's also a good idea to talk to your family who supports you the most, or the friends you spend time with all the time. If you can't find the answer in one year, I think it's okay to take two years. I'm sure it will be difficult at times, but there is no answer, so please do your best in your job search and you won't regret it. I look forward to working with you at Nissin if you have the opportunity.
