interview01

Please tell us about the work you are currently doing.

I joined the company in April 2008 and learned the basics of import and export through working at a Finished Car export site and a sales office that handles auto parts, and in April 2015 I was transferred to NISSIN (U.K.) LTD.. Currently, I am mainly in charge of sales to Japanese manufacturers regardless of industry. When we say international logistics, we don't just "ship cargo from country A to country B in a timely manner that meets the customer's desired delivery date," but we also offer a combination of transportation and extra, such as warehousing and daily customer service quality, to our customers. By doing so, customers often discover the value of Nissin as an international comprehensive logistics company. In Japan, I was involved in operations related to import and export by sea and air, but in the UK, in addition to that, I was required to have a wide range of knowledge, including warehouse operations, which I had no experience with, so I am learning every day, but at the same time I feel myself growing. I am living a very fulfilling life every day.

interview 02

What is the most memorable job you've ever had?

One job that left an impression on me was when I received a new order for warehouse work for automotive parts, I worked with the warehouse staff to set up the operation. Although NISSIN (U.K.) LTD. had a wealth of experience in warehousing operations that handle automobile parts, the work we received included operations that the company had no experience with, so there was a lot of waste in the work immediately after the start of work, and we were responsible for warehousing. It was a lot of hardship, such as having to travel overseas to solve problems with people. During this time, I was able to get the business back on Railway Track by intervening and making adjustments between the customer and the site. Our customers praised our ability to quickly handle the process from problem occurrence to Railway Track and getting things back on track, as well as the quality of our internal communication, which gave us confidence that they were able to trust us through problem-solving.

interview 03

Do you feel any difference between Japan and other countries?

In the UK, I work with a greater focus on ``having thorough dialogue with the other person.'' In particular, here we work with people from various backgrounds, including those from the UK, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, India, and Japan, so their ways of thinking and approaches to a single phenomenon are not uniform and are often completely different. is. In Japan, it is often difficult to understand things that can be understood without explanation, so it is important to clearly convey your ideas to the other person. On the other hand, people tend to think that ``you should be more assertive overseas anyway,'' but asserting your own opinions alone may generate backlash, so it is important to understand the other party's points and then discuss them constructively. It is important to advance this, and I feel that through these daily interactions, I am developing communication skills other than verbal skills.

interview 04

Is there anything you should have learned/something you wish you had acquired before you were stationed here?

I feel that expatriate employees are required to have a "willingness to take on new challenges" and "the driving force to move things forward." In my case, I handled automobile parts in Japan, but after moving to the UK, I had to cover a wide range of areas, including importing food and chemicals, and attending moving operations when customers were stationed there. Naturally, there is some anxiety when starting a new experience, but jumping into something can earn you the trust of your company and customers, so it is very important to have that attitude of taking on challenges. Also, moving forward with a new project requires more effort than what you are used to, but if you spend more time than necessary, you will end up with other tasks, so it is important to acquire the drive to move things forward. is important.

interview 05

How do you spend your days off?

Every town in the UK has a grassy park or pub (tavern, tavern), so people often spend their holidays relaxing with their families, walking in the park or having lunch at a pub. Before I came to England, my image of a pub was that it was a place where British people would drink beer, watch soccer games, and make a lot of noise. There's nothing wrong with that, but during the daytime you can easily go there with your kids, so my family and I go on a pub tour in the neighborhood to find our favorite pub. By the way, British food has a reputation for being bad, but I personally like it and eat it often, even though it looks simple compared to dishes from other European countries, such as fish and chips and roasted beef, pork, and chicken.

interview 06

Please tell us about your future goals and dreams.

By gaining a variety of knowledge and experience through work at domestic and overseas locations, I will deepen my understanding of the services that Nissin can provide, and from there I will be able to propose new services that meet the needs of our customers. I would like to become a salesperson who can recognize the value of Nissin as an international comprehensive logistics company. Also, my generation is young, and more than 10 years have passed since I joined the company, so I will do my best to become a leader at Nissin in the future!

interview 07

Please give a message to job hunters!

I think it is very difficult to choose a company when you are job hunting. I myself have been interested in international logistics since my student days, but when I was looking for a job, there was a lot of information, and I sometimes wondered if I should jump into an industry other than logistics, but in the end I decided, ``Is this the kind of job I want to do?'' I decided to join the company with this in mind. As a result, I was able to gain a great deal of experience in the 10 years I joined the company, including work in the field, domestic sales, overseas sales, and some moving work, and I am glad that I joined Nissin. People have different views on employment, but the best thing is to be able to make choices without regrets. I hope that these messages from our employees will make Nissin of your options, and I look forward to working with you if you decide to join us! ! !
