I am in charge of CY operations at Yumeshima Container Terminal in Osaka. The entire process at the terminal, from arranging Carrying out of an empty export container ordered by a customer to checking whether the cargo container has been Carrying in on the CY CUT date (cutoff date) set for each ship and whether Customs clearance clearance has passed. We are mainly responsible for export operations. We also handle a wide range of other tasks, including witnessing plant quarantine inspections of imported cargo and Inventry Control of empty containers. Employees in charge of ship operations also work at the office, and their main duties include arranging workers for cargo handling on ships, creating plans for container stowage onto ships, and being on-site to witness cargo handling operations on container ships. There are duties related to cargo handling.

interview 02

What kind of school days did you have?

Since I majored in international culture during my university days, I became interested in living abroad and studied abroad in New Zealand in my third year. At first, I was very worried about the language and cultural differences, but I was willing to take on any challenge, and it was a great experience for me, such as participating in the local rugby team's practice and going backpacking by myself. . Also, while I was interacting with people from many different countries at the school I studied abroad, I sometimes struggled with interpersonal relationships, but instead of giving up on the word "cultural differences," I actively communicated and understood the other person. By making an effort, I was able to break down barriers and make many friends. I think this kind of experience will be of great use to Nissin, which has a lot of contact with people from overseas.

interview 03

What made you decide to join the company?

The deciding factor in joining the company was the warmth of the people I felt during my job search. I majored in international culture when I was a student and had the experience of studying abroad, so I started job hunting with the rough goal of finding a job that involves overseas. As I progressed through Nissin 's company information sessions, interacting with senior employees, and going through interviews, I felt the warmth and homely atmosphere of the interviewers and hiring staff, and decided to join Nissin. . It has been three years since I joined the company, and I have been blessed with very kind and warm people, including my superiors, seniors, and classmates in my department, and I feel that the warmth I felt from the people I felt while job hunting was not wrong. Masu.

interview 04

What is the atmosphere like at your company or department?

The atmosphere in my department is very friendly and makes me feel at home. In the workplace where I work, there are many employees who are similar in age to me, so we can easily communicate with each other at work, so we can proceed smoothly, and my boss actively listens to the opinions of younger employees. I think I work in a workplace with a very open atmosphere. We have built a good relationship outside of work, playing smartphone games together during our lunch breaks and going golfing on our days off, and I am very grateful to him for everything from work-related guidance to golf technical guidance.

interview 05

How do you think you have grown compared to when you first joined the company?

Since joining Nissin, I feel that my communication skills have improved. While working at the terminal, I not only talk to people directly, but also by phone and email with people from various industries, including shipping companies, workers, freight forwarders, and truck drivers. I always try to put myself in the other person's shoes and quickly determine what they want and how to communicate it in an easy-to-understand way, which I think has led to the development of my communication skills. In my third year, I also had the experience of being an OJT leader, which made me keenly aware of the difficulty of teaching (communicating) to others, and made me more conscious of thinking and acting from the other person's perspective.

interview 06

Please tell us about your future goals and dreams.

My goal is to become a salesperson who understands the feelings of the people in the field and can provide better products to customers. When I joined the company, I knew very little about logistics, but by actually seeing cargo on site, I was able to learn about the flow of logistics with the support of various people. Bonded warehouse matters that I am responsible for at my current workplace are very in-depth, and I am working hard to learn every day. In the future, when I transferred to warehouse or sales, I would like to make use of the experience and interpersonal connections I cultivated at my current workplace, deepen my knowledge of my current business so that I can become a salesperson who can provide better plans to customers, and be proactive in trying new things. I want to take on the challenge.

interview 07

Please give a message to job hunters!

Nowadays, you can get a lot of information without having to visit the company, but instead of making decisions based only on the information on the company website or job-hunting site, it is better to actively interact with the person in charge of recruitment or with senior employees if the opportunity arises. I think it's important to participate in a company and experience for yourself whether the company is right for you. Rather than narrowing down your list of companies too much, we recommend that you try out a variety of companies even at briefing sessions. I know this is a very difficult time for you to find a job, but I hope you enjoy the rest of your student life to the fullest, doing things that only a student can do. This experience will be useful in your future life and will provide you with energy for your job hunting and future working life. Lastly, I would like to thank you for reading to the end, even if it is a clumsy sentence. I hope that your job hunting and working life will be better. I wish you the best! !
