I participated in a side event of the "International Forum on Transport (ITF) Transport Ministers' Meeting 2026".
May 18, 2026
On May 6, 2026, our company spoke as a representative of private companies at a side event ("Insurance that enables investment in the central corridor and Supply Chain") of the 18th ITF (International Transport Forum) Summit, co-hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and other organizations, held in Leipzig, Germany.
The ITF is an organization under the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) that was established by reorganizing the European Transport Ministers' Meeting into a global organization. It is the only international organization that covers all modes of transport—land, sea, and air—with participation from 72 member countries, private companies, and experts, conducting research and studies on transport.
On that day, Assem Segizbayeva, Deputy Director of our Almaty Representative Office, spoke from Kazakhstan, a neighboring country across the Caspian Sea from Azerbaijan, the chair country of the ITF 2026 Summit. He spoke about the importance of sharing certain information regarding logistics among stakeholders, and about improving the reliability and resilience of Supply Chain through risk mitigation from the perspective of insurance. In particular, he emphasized the importance of the Central Corridor, which passes through the Caspian Sea, as the only safe and secure gateway to Europe on the Eurasian continent where diplomatic marine cargo insurance can be obtained.
Regarding container transport between Japan and Europe, the establishment of alternative routes is urgently needed, and from the perspective of BCP (Business Continuity Planning) and SCM (Supply Chain Management), we believe it is important to ensure that the Central Corridor is always available as a backup for sea routes.
We will continue to collaborate with domestic and international organizations to contribute to the development of international transportation and logistics.
