"The 3rd Joint Six Logistics Companies Sustainability Promotion Forum - Business and Human Rights" held
March 3, 2026
On March 2, 2026, the sustainability departments of six logistics companies, including ours, jointly held the "Third Six Logistics Companies Joint Sustainability Promotion Opinion Exchange Meeting - Business and Human Rights."
We have set "respect for each and every individual and the creation of an environment in which each can fully demonstrate his or her abilities" as one of our materiality issues, and in March 2025 we established the "Nissin Group Human Rights Policy" and are strengthening our efforts in "business and human rights" based on this policy. The purpose of this meeting was to raise awareness of respect for human rights throughout the logistics industry and to discuss effective measures to address issues common to the industry, such as long working hours and protection of the rights of foreign workers, through collaboration across company boundaries.
On the day, we welcomed Mr. Sakon Kuramoto, a leading expert in this field and recipient of the BUSINESS LAWYERS AWARD 2025, from Kuramoto International Law Office, who gave a lecture on how to address human rights risks in the warehousing and logistics industries.
In addition to explaining the differences between traditional risk management and compliance, the lecture also used examples to explain the specific ways in which companies should respond and the mindset they should have in the event that a human rights risk becomes apparent. After the lecture, participants exchanged opinions, and by learning about the cases and perspectives of other companies, it was an opportunity to deepen their knowledge and understanding of how to solve their own issues.
We will use what we have learned from this experience to advance effective initiatives based on Nissin Group Human Rights Policy, promote respect for human rights throughout the logistics value chain, and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
